10 Hidden Beaches in Bali You’ll Wish You Found Sooner

Hidden beaches in Bali are not as easy to find as they once were—but they still exist if you know where to look.

Let’s be honest—Bali has no shortage of beautiful beaches. However, the truth is, many of the famous ones are no longer exactly “hidden.”

That said, if you’re willing to drive a little farther, walk down a few steep staircases, or simply explore beyond the usual tourist spots, you’ll discover a completely different side of the island.

So, after exploring the coastline, getting lost more times than I’d like to admit, and chasing more sunsets than I can count, here are my personal picks for Bali’s best hidden beaches—ranked from #10 all the way to #1.

10. Balangan Beach

To start the list, Balangan isn’t exactly unknown anymore. Nevertheless, compared with places like Kuta or Seminyak, it still feels surprisingly relaxed.

The dramatic cliffs, golden sunsets, and consistent surf make it a fantastic place to spend an afternoon. Plus, the cliff-top viewpoints are some of the best in southern Bali.

9. Thomas Beach

Tucked away near Uluwatu, Thomas Beach often gets overshadowed by its more famous neighbors.

And honestly, that’s exactly why it deserves a spot here.

Soft sand, turquoise water, and just enough seclusion to make it feel special.

8. Pantai Tegal Wangi

What makes this place stand out isn’t just the beach—it’s the natural rock pools and cave-like formations.

Even better, sunset here feels almost unreal.

If you’re into photography, you’ll probably stay longer than planned.

7. Bias Tugel Beach

Small, peaceful, and incredibly photogenic.

Because it’s hidden near Padangbai, many travelers drive right past it without realizing what they’re missing.

Fortunately, that keeps the crowds away.

6. Amed Beach

Amed feels completely different from southern Bali.

Instead of white sand, you’ll find volcanic black beaches, fishing boats, and some of the best snorkeling on the island.

In other words, it’s Bali with a completely different personality.

5. Gunung Payung Beach

This beach surprised me more than almost any other.

Despite how stunning it is, it somehow remains quiet—even during high season.

And these days, that’s rare.

4. Melasti Beach

Technically, Melasti isn’t a total secret anymore.

However, the cliff drive alone earns it a top-five spot.

By the time you reach the shoreline, you already know you’ve found somewhere speci

3. Suluban Beach

Walking through narrow rock passages before suddenly emerging onto the beach feels almost cinematic.

As a result, Suluban doesn’t just feel like a beach—it feels like an adventure.

2. Green Bowl Beach

Yes, your legs will hate you after climbing back up.

Still, the hidden caves, clear water, and nearly empty shoreline make every step worth it.

Without question, this is one of Bali’s most underrated spots.

1. Nyang Nyang Beach

And finally… the crown goes to Nyang Nyang.

Why?

Because it still feels wild.

No beach clubs. No crowds. No loud music.

Just a long stretch of untouched sand, crashing waves, towering cliffs, and that rare feeling of discovering somewhere that hasn’t been changed by tourism.

And honestly…

That’s the Bali most people never get to see.

Final Thought - Hidden beaches in Bali

If there’s one thing Bali teaches you, it’s this:

The best places usually require a little extra effort.

And more often than not, the beaches at the end of the steepest stairs become the ones you remember forever.
